Hudson's team was working on a multi-platform AAA game with a focus on character-driven narrative in a new sci-fi universe. This news is a blow to fans who were eagerly awaiting another hit from the Mass Effect director. Other studios with BioWare talent are also facing challenges. Archetype Entertainment's game Exodus is in development, but it's not clear if it will match the success of franchises like Mass Effect. Nightingale, a survival game from Inflexion Games, launched in early access this year but had to cut staff due to lack of commercial success. It's a reminder that the gaming industry can be tough, even for experienced teams.
