Catch the Northern Lights on New Year's Eve!
USATuesday, December 31, 2024
To spot them, find a dark spot away from city lights. You might even see more with your camera than with your eyes! If you miss them on New Year's Eve, don't worry. They could still be visible after nightfall on New Year's Day.
The sun is going through a grumpy phase, called solar maximum, where it acts up more. This year, we've seen lots of these plasma blobs, and some have caused beautiful auroras as far south as Florida!
But remember, these lights aren't just pretty. They can also mess with satellites and radio signals. Nothing too serious, though.
So, keep an eye on the sky this New Year's Eve. It might just be a night to remember!
