Cathay's Fresh Business Class for A330neo: A Look Ahead

Cathay Pacific is revamping its business class experience for the upcoming Airbus A330neo, due to arrive in 2028. They're considering a new seat design, but it might be similar to the flatbeds on their upgraded A330s. The focus is on creating a consistent experience for passengers. The A330neo is an improved version of the popular A330 plane. It offers better range, fuel efficiency, and a sleeker cabin. Cathay plans to replace older A330s and some Boeing 777s with these new jets, serving regional routes and possibly long-haul flights.

Delays in the airline supply chain mean Cathay wants to secure contracts for seats, galleys, and other cabin elements early. They're also considering electronically-dimmable windows that can darken almost completely. By 2031, Cathay expects to have 30 A330neos, with options for 30 more. This new business class will join their A321neo recliners, 777 Aria Suites, and refreshed business classes on A330 and A350 jets.
