Celebrating 95 Stars of Career Tech Excellence

Middleburg Heights, Ohio, USAThursday, May 7, 2026

Polaris Career Center has welcomed a new cohort of 95 students into the National Technical Honor Society, the pinnacle of recognition for achievement in career‑technical education across the country.
Only a tiny fraction—under 2 percent—of high school students nationwide earn this honor, making the class all the more remarkable.

A Milestone Class

  • Campus split: Almost evenly between on‑campus students and those attending satellite programs at partner schools.
  • 50th anniversary: The school marked its 50 years of operation by inducting 50 on‑campus scholars, a symbolic milestone that ties the past to the present.

Rigorous Criteria

To qualify, students must:

  • Earn straight A’s in their Polaris program.
  • Maintain at least a 95 % attendance rate.
  • Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Beyond academics, candidates are judged on scholarship, leadership, service, and character to ensure a well‑rounded profile.

Beyond the Badge

The honor opens doors to further leadership roles:

  • Polaris Student Ambassadors during senior year, representing the school at recruitment events and connecting with future students and families.
  • Access to scholarships and industry links through partners such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research, ASE, and the Skilled Careers Coalition.

Structured Support System

Polaris credits its structured support system for helping students meet these rigorous standards:

  • Career and Enrollment Services guide students from enrollment toward programs that match their interests.
  • The Workforce team offers internships and professional development.
  • Daily classroom instruction reinforces attendance, commitment, and a strong work ethic, preparing graduates to enter both the workforce and further education ready for success.
