In a thrilling display of police work, the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) recently captured a fugitive who had been on the run for over a year. Tyrone Walker, 30, was wanted for the murder of Cecil Holmes Jr., 39, and had been indicted on charges of first-degree murder and possession of a gun as a felon. With the help of a night-vision equipped helicopter, officers tracked Walker down in a gold SUV and ultimately tackled him as he attempted to flee the scene. The dramatic video of the operation, posted on social media, shows the vehicle driving through a housing development before coming to a stop. As Walker exits the SUV and attempts to flee, an officer chases him down and tackles him to the ground. Walker is seen tossing a pistol with an extended magazine before being taken into custody. In addition to Walker, two other individuals were arrested for outstanding probation violation warrants. Walker, who has multiple convictions including aggravated burglary, theft, and cocaine possession, was ultimately processed and booked with a judge ordering that he be held without bond pending a hearing.
