Chatbot Help for Doctors Facing Harassment

Friday, June 19, 2026
Healthcare workers are seeing more violent incidents at work, which hurts their mental health and affects the whole team. Even though many hospitals have programs to stop this violence, people rarely report it and they still need private help. A new plan aims to create a digital assistant—a chatbot—to give quick, confidential support. The idea is that the bot can talk to staff, give advice, and check in after an event.
Researchers will test the chatbot with a mix of methods: they’ll gather data from interviews, surveys, and usage logs. The goal is to see if the bot really reduces stress and helps people feel safer. If the study works, it could offer a low‑cost way for hospitals to help staff cope with aggression. The chatbot would be easy to use and could reach many workers at once, something current programs struggle with. The project also looks at how to keep the bot private and trustworthy, so employees feel comfortable sharing their experiences online.
