Both devices are slim, so portability isn’t the deciding factor. Where Chromebooks pull ahead is variety—brands like Lenovo, HP, and ASUS offer tons of models with different screens, storage, and speeds. Want a bigger display or more space? Just pick the Chromebook that fits. They’re built for quick web tasks: email, Google Drive, streaming, and writing papers. Heavy jobs like video editing or gaming usually leave them struggling unless you pay extra.

iPads cost more up front. The cheapest model starts at three hundred fifty dollars, and the top version hits over two thousand. Even the budget iPad packs handy extras: a back camera for photos and projects, a bright screen for movies, fingerprint login, and colors you can choose. Its processor and iPadOS handle heavier work better than most Chromebooks. The catch is add-ons. Extra storage, cellular data, or a typing cover all push the total cost higher. A cheap iPad can balloon into a costly setup once you add the accessories you probably need.
