Energy budgets aren't safe either; models tend to underestimate how much heat is moving around. And here's an interesting find: models that do a better job of showing current sea ice and atmospheric heat transport often also predict Arctic warming more accurately. This suggests that getting the present right is key to understanding the future. Insights like these can help pick the best models for future climate projections.
