Winter Weather Advisory in Effect

Chicago is in for more snow, just when people thought they'd seen the last of it. A winter weather advisory is in place for the entire area, starting Monday afternoon. This means more snow and slippery roads, especially during the evening rush hour.

After Thanksgiving Storm, Another Round Approaches

The weather isn't done with Chicago yet. After a big storm over Thanksgiving dropped over 11 inches of snow and caused flight cancellations, another round is on its way. The National Weather Service says the advisory starts at 2 p.m. and lasts until midnight.

Monday's Weather Challenges

  • Morning: Freezing fog made visibility poor and roads slippery in some areas.
  • Afternoon: By 3 p.m., snow will begin moving in from the west, covering the entire Chicago area by late afternoon.
  • Evening: Expect a messy commute for many.

Snowfall and Temperature Forecast

  • Snowfall: 2 to 3 inches in northern counties, up to 4 inches south of I-80.
  • Visibility: Low, making driving tricky.
  • Temperatures: Monday's high is 29 degrees, feeling even colder overnight. By Thursday, temperatures will drop significantly.

Prepare for Slippery Roads

If you're in Chicago, be ready for more snow and slippery roads. It's not a lot, but it's enough to make commuting a hassle.
