China's Bold Move: Asteroid Adventure and Space Ambitions
Taipei, TaiwanThursday, May 29, 2025
The space program in China is run by the military. It has grown quickly over the past 20 years. China was the third country to send a person into space on its own. It has also landed a rover on the far side of the moon and an unmanned explorer on Mars. China plans to send a person to the moon before 2030. It also has plans for a future mission to Jupiter, although details about that are still unknown.
China's space program has faced some challenges. It was excluded from the International Space Station due to U. S. national security concerns. This led China to build its own space station. Cooperation with the U. S. is limited by an American law. This law bans direct bilateral cooperation with NASA. Despite these challenges, China continues to push forward in space exploration.
