Cleaning Up: How UK's Net Zero Plans Boost Air Quality
UKFriday, January 10, 2025
Surprise! Buildings will play a much bigger role in cutting down PM than cars. This change will also reduce both car exhaust and tiny particles that aren't from exhaust. As for ozone (O3), it's a bit tricky. We might see a little increase by 2030, but it should go down by 2040. While the future's uncertain, these net zero plans could bring extra air pollution benefits by 2050. So, it looks like these strategies are pretty effective in cleaning up our air. Policymakers in the UK and around the world should take note!
