Coach Hurley's Sideline Standoff
XL Center, Hartford, USAWednesday, January 22, 2025
While some might find this arrogant, Hurley can back up his claim. After all, he’s led the Huskies to two consecutive national championships. But other top coaches like Rick Pitino of St. John’s, Bill Self of Kansas, and Tom Izzo of Michigan State could also make strong cases for themselves.
After the heated moment, things lightened up. Hurley shared a laugh with Butler’s coach, Thad Matta, and another referee. Despite struggling early in the season, the Huskies bounced back with an overtime win against Butler, improving their record to 14-5. They previously lost to Creighton, 68-63.
