Cold Challenge: Texans Face Chilly Patriots in Upcoming Playoff
The Houston Texans are about to step into a very different world this Sunday. Their usual games are played indoors, but now they're heading to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. The weather there is expected to be quite harsh.
Weather Forecast
- Temperature: Low 30s°F
- Wind Chill: Might feel even colder
- Snow: Up to 2 inches possible
This is a big change for the Texans, who are used to playing in a dome.
Patriots' Experience
The New England Patriots, on the other hand, are no strangers to cold weather. They've played in temperatures below 40°F in their last six games. They won five of those games, but they did lose one in the snow to the Buffalo Bills. That loss wasn't because of the weather, though. The team just couldn't keep up their early momentum.
Texans' Cold Weather Experience
The Texans have some experience with cold weather, but not much with snow. They did win their last two cold-weather games, but the last time they played in the snow was in 2016. None of the players from that game are still on the team.
Game Details
- Date: Sunday, January 18
- Time: 3 p.m. ET
- Matchup: AFC East champion Patriots vs. AFC South runner-up Texans
The Texans will have to adapt quickly to the cold if they want to win.
