Fox Valley residents are invited to join a four‑day series of local gatherings that celebrate the legacy of Congressman John Lewis. The event, called Good Trouble Lives On, runs from July 16 to 19 and is part of a national effort to encourage civic engagement in the face of recent voting‑rights challenges.  

On Thursday evening, a town hall led by the ACLU will kick off the weekend with a discussion about protecting voting rights. The session promises to offer practical advice on how ordinary citizens can help keep elections fair and open.  

Friday’s highlight, Good Trouble Is Brewing, will take place at Riverlands Brewing Company in St. Charles. Participants can meet fellow advocates and build relationships that may last beyond the weekend.  

Saturday hosts a rally on Randall Road in Geneva, where people can honor Lewis’s commitment to peaceful protest. The event will run from 11:30 a. m. to 1 p. m. , giving attendees a chance to stand together for democratic values.  

The weekend ends Sunday with a community gathering in Geneva that reflects on Lewis’s courage and encourages participants to carry his message forward.
