Community Events Bring Faith, Fun and Fresh Starts

A local church on Education Street will open its doors for a three‑night revival from August 4 to 6. Every evening, worship begins at six in the evening and moves into a full service by seven. The theme “You Must Leave the Boat, ” drawn from Matthew 4:18‑22, encourages listeners to step into new faith journeys. Rev. Ricardo L. Handy Sr. , who will speak each night, comes from Mount Zion Inner‑City Church in Plaquemine. The main pastor, Rev. Henry J. Brown, will welcome attendees and the event invites anyone in the area to join. On Saturday, August 1, a different church in Scotlandville will host its annual Back 2 School Bash. The gathering starts at ten a. m. and ends around one p. m.
