Community Fun Day: Schools, Businesses and Kids Come Together

RSU 22 Education Foundation plans a free family gathering on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. , held at Hampden Academy on Western Ave. The event will showcase local businesses, student projects and community resources in a relaxed setting. The highlight is the Kids Carnival, created by students and local groups. It will feature games that teach teamwork while raising funds for student clubs and the Foundation’s goals. A separate Business Expo will let visitors meet over 35 local vendors. They’ll offer food, handmade items, health and financial advice, and home‑office supplies—great for networking and discovering neighborhood services.

Health is also a focus. A Wellness Area will give CPR and Stop the Bleed lessons (pre‑registration helps). Families can learn about family health plans and other community support. All money raised will feed the Foundation’s Teacher Mini Grant Program. These grants help teachers in Frankfort, Hampden, Newburgh and Winterport try new classroom ideas. The Foundation encourages local businesses to sign up for booths or sponsorships through their website. Volunteers can email the Foundation for help on the day.
