Fox’s "Crime Scene Kitchen" is mixing things up for its third season by inviting famous faces to join the judging panel. The show, hosted by Joel McHale, is a unique baking competition where teams must figure out a dessert’s recipe based on crumbs and clues left behind. In upcoming episodes, renowned pastry chef Dominique Ansel and actor Ravi Patel will lend their expertise as guest judges.
Ansel, known for creating the Cronut, will appear in Episode 8 to set the Safety Bake and share his insights. Patel, who stars in Fox’s sitcom "Animal Control" with McHale, will join in Episode 6. Both will taste and evaluate the bakes alongside regular judges chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp.
This season also brings a new twist: half of the competing teams are family members, and the other half are friends. This setup aims to test which dynamic—family or friends—performs better under pressure. Each episode features a Safety Bake and an elimination round, leading to a grand prize of $100,000 for the winning team.
The show pushes contestants to be creative and analytical, combining the thrill of a mystery with the art of baking. With these guest judges, "Crime Scene Kitchen" offers a fresh take on the classic baking competition format.
