Cristiano Ronaldo: Why He Avoids Late-Night Calls and Prefers Unconventional Sleep
Jeddah, Saudi ArabiaMonday, October 7, 2024
Ronaldo believes that maintaining a consistent sleep pattern is vital for his performance on the pitch. He also avoids screens before bedtime to ensure he gets quality sleep. This dedication to rest is just one part of Ronaldo’s disciplined lifestyle. He eats six small, protein-rich meals throughout the day instead of three large ones. His unique sleep pattern includes five 90-minute naps, a method known as polyphasic sleep.
One of his more unusual practices involves cryotherapy. In 2021, Ronaldo had a £50,000 cryotherapy chamber installed in his home to help with recovery and reduce inflammation by exposing himself to extremely cold temperatures. This unconventional approach has kept him at the top of his game even as he approaches 40 years old.
