Crown Jewel: Surprises, Rivalries, and What's Next in WWE
Saudi ArabiaSunday, November 3, 2024
Speaking of intense moments, the Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton grudge match didn't go as planned. Orton's slow entrance and posing didn't impress as it usually did, causing the crowd to turn against him. But Owens brought the heat, using a steel chair to ignite a chaotic brawl that ended with Orton through a table. Owens clearly had a score to settle, and he definitely did that. Raw GM Adam Pearce got involved too, and paid the price with an RKO from Orton. It was a big night for Owens and a reminder that you don't mess with a rival's intensity.
The champion-versus-champion face-offs also made for interesting viewing. The idea was to create a prestigious Crow Jewel title, but the match ended up cluttered with distractions from other wrestlers. Liv Morgan's win over Nia Jax felt less about skill and more about chaos. On the other hand, Cody Rhodes lost no time in proving that he’s the WWE's undisputed champion. Beating Gunther cleanly not only silenced doubters but also added a touch of authenticity to the match. Though it could be argued that a Gunther win would have elevated both his and his title’s status.
