Crypto Critic Molly White Receives Bribe Offer to Remove Blog Post
Saturday, October 26, 2024
A few days later, White got an email from a lawyer named Michael Woods. Woods claimed White's post infringed on copyright. He offered her $100 to remove the post. White again refused, stating that false DMCA claims can result in penalties.
TechCrunch couldn't verify Woods' identity. The address in his email was fake, and no lawyer named Michael Woods is registered in Los Angeles. TechCrunch reached out to FutureNet for comment but didn't get a response.
White told TechCrunch she won't remove posts just because people don't like what she writes. She said, "If I did that, there wouldn't be much left on my website. "
