People often think that Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana are in big trouble because so much of their supply is held at a loss. But, when you look closer, the story isn't as scary as it seems.

Bitcoin: The Big Picture

  • 35% of Bitcoin is held at a loss.
  • Big players (companies, ETFs, countries) hold a significant portion.
  • Lost Bitcoin is also a factor.

When you account for these, the actual amount of Bitcoin feeling the pain is much less than 35%.

Ether: Locked Up and Staked

  • 37% of Ether is held at a loss.
  • Massive amounts are locked in staking or held by institutions.
  • Not all of it is floating around, ready to be sold.

Solana: The High Loss Outlier

  • 70% of Solana is held at a loss.
  • Most is locked in staking, so it's not just sitting there, waiting to be dumped.

The Bigger Picture

  • Loss figures can change quickly when prices rise.
  • Locked or lost coins don't react to short-term price changes.
  • Actual sell pressure is often much lower than the big loss percentages suggest.
