Cuban Slams Trump's Tariffs at Harris Rally; Musk Tours PA

Billionaire investor Mark Cuban took a jab at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump during a campaign rally for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Speaking in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Cuban mocked Trump's tariff proposals, suggesting the former president doesn't grasp his own tax ideas. "I've learned a lot about business, including how tariffs work," Cuban told the crowd. He highlighted Trump's belief that China would pay for steep tariffs, comparing it to the infamous promise that Mexico would fund the border wall.

Economists have long argued that U.S. importers bear the brunt of tariff costs, which ultimately get passed on to American consumers. A study by the Peterson Institute for International Economics estimated that a 20% universal tariff and a 60% tariff on China could cost U.S. households over $2,600 annually. Cuban speculated that Trump might have understood tariffs better in the past. Cuban's appearance in Wisconsin was the first of several stops in key swing states. He plans to discuss Harris' economic agenda in Phoenix, Arizona, and campaign with Douglas Emhoff in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Meanwhile, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is supporting Trump's campaign by touring Pennsylvania.
