Cyber Attack Numbers Rise in Israel After US‑Israel Strike on Iran

IsraelMonday, June 29, 2026
A senior Israeli cyber officer said that the amount of hostile hacking from Iran has gone up sharply after this year’s military push. The director general of Israel’s National Cyber Directorate, Yossi Karadi, told a German paper that in June 2025 the state recorded about 1, 600 cyber incidents during its operations against Iran. In June 2026 that figure jumped to roughly 4, 800 attacks. Karadi explained that some Iranian groups are very skilled. Israel can defend itself, but the attacks must be taken seriously because cyberspace has no cease‑fire.
The hackers aimed at many parts of Israeli society. They targeted critical infrastructure, government bodies, small and medium‑sized firms, and even the public. Law practices and accounting companies were among the smaller victims. So far, Israel claims it has stopped attacks on its essential services. Other companies that are easier to breach often have their computer systems wiped clean, though no names were given. Iran usually denies that it carries out hacking against other nations and instead reports attacks on itself.
