Cyber Showdown Uncovers Massive Crypto Stash
A Heated Dispute Unveils a Fortune
A fierce online argument between two hackers resulted in an astonishing revelation. One of the hackers, known as John or Lick, inadvertently exposed his cryptocurrency wallet. This wallet was linked to over $90 million in questionable funds, a discovery made by blockchain sleuth ZachXBT.
The Showdown in an Online Chat Group
The altercation took place in an online chat group where both hackers were engaged in a contest called "band for band." They were boasting about their crypto holdings, and the entire exchange was recorded. In the video, John displayed a wallet containing approximately $2.3 million in Tron and moved around $6.7 million in ether. By the end of the exchange, he had accumulated around $23 million in a single wallet.
Tracing the Funds
ZachXBT traced the funds back to other wallets. One of them, 0xd8bc, was connected to another wallet, 0x8924. John admitted to owning this wallet, which had received a large amount of wrapped ether in late 2025. This ether was traced back to a wallet linked to the Bitfinex hack, funds that had previously been seized by the U.S. government.
Additional Suspicious Transactions
The wallet 0xd8bc also received over $63 million from other suspected victims. Recently, it acquired an additional $12.4 million from a centralized exchange. This incident highlights how careless actions can lead to significant revelations.
