Cynthia Erivo: Ariana Grande's Cyberbullying is Serious

Cynthia Erivo, known for her roles in "Harriet" and "Wicked, " is thinking about directing. She recently spoke at the Red Sea Film Festival, praising Barbra Streisand's career path. Erivo also addressed the cyberbullying Ariana Grande faces, saying it’s dangerous. She thinks people should focus on positive things instead of online hate. Making "Wicked" was special for Erivo, especially with her close friends. She even added personal touches to her character, Elphaba, like braids and nails.

Being a Black woman, Erivo wanted to show Elphaba’s struggles with feeling othered. Singing “Defying Gravity” was challenging, as she had to imagine a ground under her to hit the right notes while flying on a harness. The film’s box office success surprised her. Erivo and Grande protected each other during filming, creating a strong bond. They both agreed that jealousy isn’t helpful.
