Designing the Support Buddy App with Breast Cancer Survivors

Breast cancer is a global health concern, with a high survival rate in the US, at 91% over five years. Despite this, many survivors face mental health challenges like depression and anxiety due to the stress and uncertainty that comes with survivorship. Over 40% of survivors grapple with these issues, highlighting a crucial need for better support. Traditional methods of care often fall short, making it essential to explore new, scalable approaches.

One such approach is the development of the MOSAIC mHealth app. This app was co-designed with breast cancer survivors themselves, using a user-centered design approach. By involving survivors in the design process, the app can better address their real-life needs and experiences. This collaborative effort aims to provide personalized support and help survivors manage their mental health more effectively.
