Detroit High School Sports Night: Stars, Wins and Stories
On June 24, the MotorCity Casino Hotel hosted a glittering ceremony celebrating more than 300 athletes from the Detroit area. The event spotlighted top performers across every sport—from football and basketball to cross‑country and gymnastics.
Key Awards
Overall Boys Athlete of the Year – Samson Gash (Novi Detroit Catholic Central)
Led his football team to an undefeated season and a state title, while posting impressive track times.Overall Girls Athlete of the Year – Elizabeth Eichbrecht (West Bloomfield High School)
Won two freestyle events for a fourth straight time, setting state records.Boys Team of the Year – Shamrocks (Novi Detroit Catholic Central)
