Diplomatic Showdown Over Panama Canal
Monday, February 3, 2025
The concern for governmental audits has a wider influence by China, thus furthering the concern for policies that put the states in a rough position. Traditionally, the Canal has gasped for more solid resolutions, instead of propaganda and threats, or public awareness into the dispute. Instead the reaction was somewhat opposite to what is expected in much of the western world, as fear of the unusual and severe nature of the threat, and growing concerns about the fate of diplomatic relations.
Instead of China's influence, the trade dispute has inspired questions about the waterway's economic stability.
They have evolved from the deepening conflict between the United States and Panama and the United States’ increasing influence over the waterway.
In the end the situation certainly echoes the importance of diplomacy addressed by the individuals forward. It is important not to take the Canal for granted. Those in control must not only understand the history of the Canal, but also the influence of other countries. It is important to remember the history of the canal, which has been used for both trade and war.
Some argue that Panama may be open to compromise. But it's clear that the dispute over the canal has deep roots and a complicated history.
