DirecTV's Free Streaming Service Launch: A New Way to Watch

The free service is designed to be a starting point for users, offering popular content genres like sports, entertainment, kids' shows, news, and lifestyle. DirecTV's Your TV content aggregation carousel will also be integrated, providing users with a personalized TV experience.
This launch comes at a strategic time, as DirecTV recently acquired Dish Network to become the largest provider in the declining pay-TV industry. MyFree DirecTV will compete against other free, ad-supported services like Pluto TV and Tubi.
“DirecTV aims to create a brighter TV future with more choice and control for consumers,” said Amy Leifer, chief advertising sales officer at DirecTV. “We’re focused on empowering our advertising clients to reach new audiences effectively.” Kent Rees, an industry veteran, joined DirecTV to lead MyFree DirecTV, bringing extensive experience from Sling TV and other media companies.
By entering the FAST market, DirecTV hopes to boost its advertising potential and attract new viewers who might later upgrade to their paid services.
