Egg Recall: Salmonella Sickness Spreads
Hilmar, USASunday, June 8, 2025
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that at least 79 people have fallen ill. Out of these, 21 people had to be hospitalized. Most of the sick people are from California. This is not surprising since California is a large state with a big population. However, people in other states have also gotten sick. Nevada and Washington State each reported four cases. Arizona, Kentucky, Nebraska, and New Jersey also had reported illnesses. So far, no deaths have been reported. This is good news, but it is important to remember that salmonella can be very dangerous.
People need to be careful when handling and cooking eggs. Always wash hands thoroughly after handling raw eggs. Cook eggs until they are firm. Do not eat raw or undercooked eggs. If you have any of the recalled eggs, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store for a refund. It is better to be safe than sorry. Salmonella outbreaks can be prevented with proper food handling and cooking practices. People should be aware of the risks and take steps to protect themselves and their families. This outbreak is a reminder of the importance of food safety. It is crucial to follow guidelines to prevent illness.
