This comes after a Texas judge raised concerns about the transparency of the auction process. The new owners of The Onion and families of the Sandy Hook victims had been declared the successful bidders, but the judge wants a new hearing to address potential issues. X Corp. filed a notice to reserve their rights and request relevant documents.

Both Musk and Jones have been allies of Donald Trump, and Jones has used Infowars to spread conspiracy theories and misinformation. His bankruptcy is due to $1. 5 billion in damages to Sandy Hook families for defamation lawsuits. The Onion's CEO called some of Jones' recent claims "wacky" and is looking forward to completing the process.
