About the Program
The Leadership Institute Cohort is a special program designed to help individuals grow as leaders. It is run by the New Jersey Black Women’s Collective, a group established in 2021 as the first of its kind in New Jersey. The program focuses on empowering Black women leaders and is open to people of all races, genders, and ethnicities.

- Capacity: Limited to 25 participants
Program Highlights
The program offers a variety of sessions covering essential leadership skills, including:
- Workplace Politics ("Little P in Politics")
- Financial Management ("Think Like A CFO")
- Leadership Assessments
- Workshops and Networking Lunches
- Panel Discussions
- Tai Chi Classes (for strength, flexibility, and stress reduction)
- Golf Clinic (to enhance networking and event participation)

Inspiration Behind the Program
Assemblywoman Tennille R. McCoy played a key role in starting the organization. The idea emerged from a meeting with the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce, where they discussed what women needed to grow as leaders. This led to the creation of the Leadership Institute Cohort.
