Exploring Neodymium Gallium Oxides for Supercapacitors
Tuesday, December 10, 2024
Researchers studied these oxides to see how well they perform in supercapacitors. They found that Nd3Ga5O12 forms a cubic structure, while Nd3GaO6 is orthorhombic. They used various techniques like Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to understand their properties better.
In electrochemical tests, Nd3Ga5O12 showed superior performance with a specific capacitance of around 418 F g-1. When used in an asymmetric device, it demonstrated an energy density of 20 W h kg-1 and a power density of about 750 W kg-1. These findings suggest that neodymium gallium oxides have great potential for use in energy-storage devices.
