Fairfield's Board Member Calls It Quits After Five Years

Jack Testani, a Republican member of Fairfield's Board of Finance, surprised everyone by announcing his resignation during Tuesday's meeting. He'd been on the board since 2019 and served diligently until personal issues cropped up. "I apologize for missing meetings recently," he said, not going into details about what prompted his decision. Testani emphasized that while it had been an honor to serve the taxpayers, his current circumstances wouldn't let him do justice to the role.

His political journey, which started on a Board of Finance in another town 20 years ago, ended rather suddenly. After handing over his resignation letter to Town Clerk Betsy Browne, he thanked not just the board and taxpayers, but also the department heads he'd worked with during his time. Democratic Board Chair Lori Charlton acknowledged Testani's contributions before he stepped away from public service.
