Falcons Set to Take the Field in Madrid

Madrid, SpainTuesday, March 3, 2026

The National Football League has announced that its Atlanta Falcons will travel to Spain in 2026 for an international match. The game is slated as a home appearance for the Falcons, who will play eight contests in Atlanta that season.

Among the nine home games scheduled for 2026, several opponents already have overseas fixtures: the Lions, the 49ers and the Saints will each host a game abroad. That leaves teams such as the Bears and the Chiefs—who hold marketing rights in Spain—as likely choices for the Madrid showdown.

The stadium hosting the event will be the iconic Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, also home to Real Madrid’s soccer team. While the exact date remains undecided, organizers expect a 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time kickoff, matching the standard start time for NFL games held in Europe.

This Madrid match is part of a broader plan that sees nine international games on the 2026 schedule. Other cities set to host NFL action include Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, Paris, Munich, Mexico City and three locations in London.
