Farming in a Changing Climate: Experts Talk Air Pollution and Adaptation

In October 2023, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology hosted an international workshop focused on how agriculture can adapt to climate change and air pollution. Experts from various fields gathered to discuss the challenges and priorities for the future. The workshop was divided into two main discussions. The first group talked about the impact of ozone, how to measure it, and how to monitor air pollution. They also discussed the role of agriculture and consumer choices in addressing these issues.

The second group covered adaptation and mitigation strategies, including how to reduce greenhouse gases and improve energy efficiency. They also discussed local food systems, the link between adaptation and mitigation, and the challenges faced by both small-scale and large-scale farmers. The insights from these discussions can be valuable for research, education, and policy-making, providing a broad perspective from experts in different research areas.
