Father's Day: A Hole in One for Family Bonds
Louisiana, Baton Rouge, USATuesday, June 17, 2025
Golf has been a way for many families to bond for generations. Many of the golfers at Santa Maria mentioned that golf was a great way for their fathers to bond with them when they were kids. Now, they are passing down that bond to their own children. Daniel Sr. mentioned that it was awesome to be able to play golf with his son and that he wished they had started doing it when his son was younger. Eddie Welch, another golfer at Santa Maria, shared that his memories of Father's Day growing up involved playing golf with his dad and watching the U. S. Open. He was excited to continue that tradition with his own kids and grandkids. Welch mentioned that it was incredible to be able to play golf with his grandkids and that he hoped to retire soon so that he could play even more with them.
Not everyone chose to play golf at a traditional golf course. Some families opted for a more casual experience at places like Celebration Station in Baton Rouge. Thomas O'Bryant, who played mini-golf with his family, shared that he waited until later in life to have kids. He mentioned that he didn't regret it because he was able to spend more time with them and give them more. O'Bryant enjoyed the various activities that Celebration Station offered, such as go-karts and mini-golf. He mentioned that it meant a lot to him to be able to spend quality time with his family.
Golf is a sport that can bring families together in a unique way. It allows for quality time and the creation of lasting memories. Whether playing at a traditional golf course or a mini-golf course, the experience of playing golf with family on Father's Day is one that many families cherish. It is a tradition that can be passed down from generation to generation, creating a bond that lasts a lifetime.
