Farley also discussed the rising competition from Chinese carmakers, comparing their advancements to Japanese automakers in the 1980s. This is significant because Japanese cars were once renowned for their quality and innovation.

Despite the competition, Ford remains committed to EVs, calling them crucial for global relevance. However, Farley noted that U.S. EV adoption may be slower than expected, around 5%, due to regulations favoring gas-powered vehicles.
