Last week, an ex-adviser to former Vice President Mike Pence made a stark warning. She said women joining the Trump White House should brace themselves for a tough environment. Olivia Troye, who worked as a national security adviser for Pence, didn't mince words. She described it as a "hostile environment, " highlighting the contrast with Pence's respectful demeanor. Troye, who later criticized Trump and campaigned for his rival, Kamala Harris, advised women to stay strong and true to their values. She especially singled out influential figures like Elon Musk and Donald Trump Jr. , warning that their presence would make the environment even more chauvinistic.
Troye left the Trump administration in 2020 and has since become vocal about her concerns. One of her major worries was the potential for violence on January 6, 2021. She expressed this fear after Trump's post on X, where he encouraged people to gather in Washington D. C. on that date. Troye's warnings were made public on MSNBC.
The Trump transition team was contacted for comment on these issues.
