Freight Company Fights Back with Lawsuit Against WWEX Group

A major logistics firm named Freight Essentials has taken legal action against WWEX Group and its affiliates. This lawsuit, filed in a Texas federal court, suggests that WWEX Group and its companies, such as Worldwide Express, GlobalTranz, and Unishippers, have been involved in questionable business practices. These practices include hiding fees related to fuel and cargo insurance from consumers and small business owners. Freight Essentials claims that these hidden fees have led to significant financial losses for business development companies (BDCs).

Specifically, they accuse GlobalTranz of misrepresenting transportation costs, which has impacted the commission payments BDCs were entitled to receive. This legal conflict comes after Worldwide Express and GlobalTranz merged in 2021, forming a large logistics brokerage that brings in nearly $5 billion in revenue annually. This makes them one of the biggest players in the U. S. logistics industry.
