From Full to Lean: Exploring Ethereum's Stateless Future

Ethereum, the popular blockchain platform, is looking to switch to a 'Stateless' model. This change aims to tackle the growing size of Ethereum's state data. The new approach involves using 'witnesses' to handle data in a different way. These witnesses are like additional pieces of information added to the network. We need to carefully study how these changes might affect the network's security and efficiency.

To do this, we've created a special model called a Bayesian Network. It helps us understand the key factors and how they interact in the Ethereum mainnet, which is the public version of Ethereum. Our model focuses on the changes brought by Stateless Ethereum. We combine real data with expert insights to make sure our model is accurate. Based on what we know now, the Ethereum ecosystem should stay healthy even after this big change.
