Garmin smartwatches are renowned for their top-notch fitness tracking. Until recently, they couldn't share data with Google's Health Connect. That's changing, but not everything will be shared.

Google's Announcement

Google announced in May 2025 that Garmin would soon support Health Connect. They promised it would be ready by June 2025. But here we are, and it's still not live. However, Garmin has shared what data will be available once the integration is complete.

One-Way Data Sharing

The data sharing will be one-way. Garmin will send data to Google, but Google won't send any back. This means workouts tracked on other devices won't show up in Garmin Connect.

What Will Be Shared?

A lot! It includes:

  • Calories burned
  • Cycling data
  • Distance
  • Elevation
  • Heart rate
  • Speed
  • Steps
  • Swimming strokes
  • Body fat
  • Floors climbed
  • Sleep data
  • Weight

However, some Garmin-specific data, like body battery, training load, and running tolerance, will stay exclusive to Garmin Connect.

A Big Step for Garmin Users

This is a big step for Garmin users who want their data in apps that use Health Connect. While we don't know exactly when it will launch, the initial June deadline suggests it's coming soon.
