The results were surprising. The study didn't find strong evidence that the 100-200 pg/mL range is the best for feminizing effects. It also didn't show that this range reduces side effects.
This doesn't mean hormone therapy isn't effective. It just means the current guidelines might not be perfect. More research is needed to find the best estradiol levels for transgender women.
In the meantime, doctors and patients should work together. They should consider individual needs and responses. What works for one person might not work for another. Personalized care is key.
