Getting Smart: Apple's Latest Betas Unveil Intelligent Features

Imagine being able to rewrite emails with a flick of your finger, or having Siri's new glowing design shine brighter than ever. The latest public betas of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 have now made Apple's Intelligence features accessible to the masses. One of the most exciting additions is the "Clean Up" tool in Photos, which can remove unwanted objects from your snaps. This technology has been in the works for a while, and we've seen it in action before. However, this is the first time it's been available for the public to try.

But, before you can take Apple's Intelligence for a spin, you'll need to register for the company's beta software program. Once you've done that, you'll be able to download the beta updates from the settings menu. It's worth noting that not all devices are eligible for the Apple Intelligence features. Only the latest iPhone 15 Pro models, as well as the upcoming iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, can take advantage of these smart tools. iPads and Macs with M1 chips or newer are also part of the club. The journey to get to this point has been a long one. Apple's Intelligence features have been in the works for a while, and we've seen glimpses of them in action before. In July, my colleague had the chance to test the tools on iOS, and the results were impressive. But, keep in mind that what's included in these betas isn't the final product – there's more to come.
