Gilbert Arenas: From Critic to Supporter of NBA Analysts
USAFriday, January 3, 2025
Arenas acknowledged that many fans and players disagree with these rankings. "We don't like the ESPN list because it's not what we want to hear, " he said. But he believes that's because people don't like the facts.
Just a few months ago, Arenas was very critical of analysts. He even said he'd trust a die-hard fan over an analyst. But now, he seems to be softening his stance.
One reason for Arenas' change of heart could be the NBA's 75th-anniversary team list. Arenas and his crew were upset that Dwight Howard was not included. They felt that analysts, who have never played the game, couldn't truly understand a player's legacy.
However, it's important to note that the list was not solely decided by analysts. A panel of players, coaches, and other NBA figures also had a say.
