Giuliani's Courtroom Outburst Leads to Judge’s Rebuke

In a surprising courtroom incident, Rudy Giuliani, former New York City mayor and attorney for President Trump, vented his frustration at a judge during a pretrial hearing in Manhattan. The hearing was focused on the steps Giuliani was taking to comply with a $148 million defamation judgment against him, won by two Georgia election workers. The topic of discussion was why Giuliani hadn't yet handed over the title to a car he had given up, as part of his efforts to satisfy the judgment. The judge, Lewis J. Liman, found it hard to believe that Giuliani couldn't get a duplicate title, given his past as the head of the federal prosecutor’s office in the Southern District of New York.

Giuliani exploded with a shout, "The implication I’ve been not diligent about it is totally incorrect! " He insisted he was not avoiding the court order and explained his financial struggles, saying "I can’t get to bank accounts that truly would be mine because they have put stop orders on… my Social Security account, which they have no right to do. " The judge, annoyed by the outburst, warned Giuliani not to interrupt the proceedings again unless he was a sworn witness. The court also refused to delay a January trial regarding the disposition of Giuliani's Florida residence and World Series rings, assets he was trying to protect.
