Golden Retriever Stars Wanted for New Movie Adventure
A nationwide hunt is underway to find a golden retriever with the charm and talent to star in the upcoming movie "Air Bud Returns."
Casting Call
Starting in August, owners of purebred golden retrievers can submit their dogs for a chance to star in the film. The lucky winner will not only get to be in the movie but will also receive:
- Official "Air Bud" jerseys
- A trip to the Hollywood premiere
The Movie
Set to hit theaters in summer 2026, the movie is being written and directed by Robert Vince, known for producing and directing all the original "Air Bud" films and "Santa Paws."
The Story
The film follows a 12-year-old boy named Jacob who dreams of becoming a star basketball player. After losing his dad, that dream seems out of reach. But things change when he moves into his dad's old house and finds an original "Air Bud" VHS tape. He meets a neglected golden retriever he names Buddy, and together, they go on a journey of healing and teamwork.
