Scheffler and McIlroy, the world's No. 1 and No. 3 golfers, made a quick start by winning the four-ball 3&2 after just four holes. The duo secured another victory in the foursomes on the 12th hole. As a result, DeChambeau and Koepka were left needing to win both singles matchups to force a playoff, which they failed to do. The decisive moment came on the 16th hole of the third session, where the PGA pair sealed a 3-0 victory.

Post-victory, McIlroy commented on TNT, "We're really happy to win. It's a nice way to end the year. Scottie and I had a strong beginning, and we focused on keeping that momentum. " Scheffler, who is not very knowledgeable about crypto, joked about using the prize as motivation for research.
