Green Game Jam: A Mobile Quest for a Cleaner Planet

Seoul, South KoreaThursday, June 4, 2026

Black Desert Mobile is stepping onto the global stage of the Green Game Jam, a worldwide event that asks gamers to help protect nature. Backed by the United Nations Environment Programme, the initiative has run for seven years and invites top game studios to weave environmental messages into their worlds.

A Lone Korean Presence

Unlike most participants, this Korean title is the only one from its country to join this year’s lineup. It will team up with 57 other studios—including Ubisoft and Rovio—to spread the idea that playing games can also mean caring for Earth.

In-Game Eco‑Initiatives

  • Birch Sapling Mission
Players start a small “Birch Sapling” mission before the game’s June 19 maintenance. By planting five saplings in their own territories, they unlock a special chest that holds valuable in‑game items. The reward encourages real‑world gardening habits while keeping the adventure fun.
  • Photo Contest
A photo contest invites users to capture their planted trees on screen and post them in the official forum. Those who share a screenshot receive extra scrolls, giving players another reason to engage with the environment theme.

New Content and Updates

Beyond the Green Game Jam activities, the studio has rolled out new features such as a tougher boss fight and refreshed nightmare content. These updates aim to keep the core combat exciting while still supporting the larger goal of sustainability and social responsibility.

Commitment to Sustainability

The game’s developers stress that they will keep offering meaningful updates to help players grow and settle in the world, all while promoting care for nature both inside and outside of the game.
