Elon Musk recently spoke up about Grok, the AI tool from his company xAI. He said he didn't know about any "naked underage images" created by Grok. This comes at a time when Grok is facing a lot of attention worldwide. Lawmakers and groups are asking big tech companies like Apple and Google to remove Grok from their app stores. Some countries, like Malaysia and Indonesia, have even banned it.

Musk also said that Grok is made to follow the law. It won't make images unless someone asks for them. He also warned that using Grok to create illegal content would have the same consequences as uploading illegal content directly.

Last week, three Democratic senators in the US asked Apple and Google to remove X and Grok from their app stores. They were worried about the spread of nonconsensual sexual images of women and minors. A group of women's rights advocates and tech watchdogs also made a similar request.

X, the platform where Grok is used, recently limited Grok's ability to create or edit images for many users. But experts say Grok can still make sexually explicit images. They also say that paywalls might not stop people from accessing these features.

In the UK, new laws are being put in place to criminalize the creation of such images. The prime minister said X is working to follow these new rules. The communications regulator Ofcom is also looking into Grok.

Countries like Malaysia and Indonesia have blocked access to Grok. They are taking legal action against X and xAI, saying they failed to prevent harmful content and protect users.
